Bodies of Work

Dancer 2025 is a multidisciplinary photography and video exploration project in mixing visual abstraction with old and new technology. The project first started out as photographs, then created into a video, and then copied to a VHS tape.

This work is currently on display at the Greater Victoria Public Library (Emily Carr Branch) through the Victoria Arts Council’s Satellite Program. To buy these prints, please contact me directly: contact.ashleydekroon@gmail.com

This was a series experimenting with abstract ways of using light. I often discover my ideas as I play, and found success with holding a light to my chest. I then began exploring ideas surrounding the soul.

The Artist Behind the Lense

A woman wearing glasses, a black jacket, and jeans, standing on a beach with ocean waves in the background. She is smiling with arms outstretched between large driftwood logs and weathered wooden posts. The sky is overcast.
